Still in a dark alley, with strange voices all around me, screaming for help. “They can’t hear you,” a creepy and distorted voice spoke. “They can’t hear you!” he screamed. Explaining to me every day that my friends will never find me. Drowning in my own tears, blurting out every time, “They will find me, and when they do they will kill you.” A dark shadow coming now into the small light, with his evil smirk and deadly eyes, stares at me and laughs an evil laugh, then walks away.
Frightened every night that I might not wake up to see another day. Thinking that I might not ever see my best friends again is just horrendous. We had been the best of friends for as long as we could remember. We did everything together, and even promised that we’d always have each other's back especially in the dark and sad days. They would always comfort and care for me whenever I had a bad day, but lately I haven’t been feeling that care anymore. I don’t know why I haven’t, but they are my rock. Why am I losing them?
The dark shadow came every day reminding me about my family and friends and how they will forget about me and move on with their lives. Making me think and worry that it will happen, but my family and friends support me and love me, and they would never forget my existence. I’ve been closer to my family than ever and I’ve been trying to fix things with my friends so that everything would go back to normal. But the shadow could be right, me trying to fix things with my best friends is just me finding a way around the fact that my friends will forget about me. The next thing I know is that not only my friends, but my family will never hear me scream for help.
All of the sudden the dark shadow is coming towards me and forcing me into a small corner, reaching out with his hand trying to strangle me. I then open my mouth to scream, but I don’t hear a scream. My eyes roll back into my head, and I am surrounded by darkness. I wake up.

I love the concept of your vignette, the fact of losing your friends and family. And how at the same time, you were able to integrate creepy yet interesting visuals.
ReplyDeleteI like how you mirrored the daytime fears in the nightmare.
ReplyDeleteI really liked how the whole story was very ominous and you never know who the dark shadow is until you wake up and realize its all a dream. You did a really good job making the reader feel like they were there right by your side seeing everything that is going on.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice concept that the nightmare made you realize how much your friends and family really mean to you. I hope this wasn't a dream you had in reall life, because if it was that would be really scary. This reminds me of PLL, like if one of the girls got captured by A!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, that was really captivating. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I also like how it had a happy ending rather than the character dying or something. Amazing!
